Gas is an important energy source that, in considerable parts, is transported from its extraction and production locations to the end user in large pipeline networks.

In the pipelines for long-distance transport, and the cross-regional distribution networks, the gas is highly pressurized in order to use the lines’ volume to its full extent.

Since gases pose a latent risk of explosion, secure lines are necessary. To secure a smooth operation, early rehabilitation of problematic and damaged spots is required.

Other than conventional methods, Primus Line® rehabilitates high pressure gas pipelines, which are often buried deep for security reasons, via just a few space-saving construction pits. A rope winch pulls the liner from one pit to the next.

Primus Line® is certified as a product for gas supply by DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water). The aramid fabric of the G-Liner accommodates operating pressures up to 51 bar and the thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) of its inner layer distinguishes itself with its particularly low permeability.

Primus Line® is especially suited for the following conditions

Type of pipeline

  • Natural gas pipelines
  • Coke gas pipelines
  • Methane pipelines
  • Propane pipelines
  • Butane pipelines
  • Pressurized air pipelines
  • Carbon dioxide pipelines
  • Carbon monoxide pipelines
  • Oxygen pipelines

Pipe material

The Primus Line G-Liner is independent from the host pipe material, for example, with the following materials that are often used in the gas sector.

  • Polyethylene (PE)
  • Steel

Location of the pipeline

  • Culverts
  • Bridge pipelines
  • Inner-city supply pipelines
