European No-Dig Award for Primus Line®

“Design and Operating Guidelines for the Trenchless Rehabilitation of Sewer Pressure Pipelines Using Lining with Inserted Hoses” is the title of the paper that won the “Milco Anese Prize for Research & Innovation in No-Dig Technologies” in the “Relining Techniques” category. The corresponding paper was submitted by Peter Lorenz, International Account Manager at Rädlinger primus line GmbH. He received the award from the hands of Prof. Jens Hölterhoff, Member of the ISTT Board of Directors, during the Gala Dinner at the 2nd European No-Dig Conference in Milan.

“We are very pleased to receive this award: Our technology helps to prevent potential environmental pollution,” says Peter Lorenz. Leaking sewer pressure pipelines carry the danger of environmental damage as well as of compromising traffic and building safety.

The paper discusses the design and operating conditions for the trenchless rehabilitation of sewer pressure pipelines using lining with inserted hoses, as referenced in ISO 11295:2018. It reviews the technical assessment of the pipeline, taking into account the installation specifications, and outlines the possibilities for various engineering modifications to enable a renovation with inserted hoses. Primus Line® is presented as a potential solution for a flexible lining system, including a detailed description of its connector technology. A number of inserted hose installations in Europe are used as examples of the guidelines and modifications discussed.

The challenges operators of sewer pressure pipelines – also called sewer rising mains or sewer force mains – have to face are numerous. Why Primus Line® offers a custom-fit solution?
