A new impetus for trenchless pipe rehabilitation

Rädlinger primus line GmbH is expanding its portfolio with new products and supplementary services. The latest additions range from an extra liner diameter for water applications and a new reel unit for above-ground liner installation to an emergency kit. Beyond that, the company offers additional services to support customers and partners in the planning and implementation of trenchless pipe rehabilitation projects.

Since the company was founded 25 years ago, quality has played a key role for Rädlinger primus line GmbH. This applies to both the products themselves and to the support provided to network operators, engineering firms and installation partners. These services are offered as part of a ‘one-stop-shop’ package. This is why the company has continuously expanded its portfolio with new products and additional services. The following are new for this year:

New liner size

A new liner size for water applications up to 24 inches, with a pressure rating of 145 psi, is expected to be available from the end of the fourth quarter of 2026 – one more diameter option than previously. This will provide customers with an even greater range of tailor-made solutions that meet the high standards they have come to expect for the rehabilitation of pressure pipelines from 6 inches upwards.

Reel unit with laying arm

The company has developed a new reel unit designed for use in bypass and other temporary above-ground applications. This enables the liner to be both unrolled and rolled back up again after use in these scenarios. The liner can be stored on the reel to save space and reused as required. The reel core provides storage space for the necessary connector. The reel unit is available in two widths: 2,100 and 4,000 millimetres.

The base frame features lifting points for easy transport. This can be carried out using either a forklift or other lifting equipment for loads of up to nine tonnes. The entire reel unit fits into a standard container, onto a lorry or a flatbed trailer. Existing Primus Line transport reels with an electric drive and the aforementioned dimensions can be retrofitted with a laying arm and base frame.

Emergency kit for composite flexible pipes

This emergency kit is a first of its kind for composite flexible pipes, such as Primus Line®. In the event of accidental damage to the liner, the network operator’s service team can use the kit to make the necessary repairs without requiring any additional hydraulic equipment, thereby ensuring an uninterrupted supply. Tailored to the respective Primus Line® diameter, the kit is ready for immediate use and contains all the necessary components, including two quick-install connectors complete with cores and sleeves, as well as accessories such as pipe stoppers, a compressed air hose and gun, and various tools such as a torque wrench and a screw clamp.

The hygiene-approved emergency connectors are designed for a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar and a service life of up to 60 days at normal ambient temperature.

Additional services by Rädlinger Primus Line

The proven, internationally certified quality of Primus Line® technology has been available for a quarter of a century. Installation partners, engineering firms and customers have the opportunity to benefit from the long-standing expertise of the Rädlinger Primus Line engineers and specialists, whether as part of an overall project or in the form of individual services. Accreditation training for new installation partners and on-site supervision of construction sites by experienced technicians or engineers can be commissioned separately. Prior to liner installation, a camera inspection determines the cleanliness of the pipeline. This involves inspecting joints, bends, obstructions, components and changes in material along the pipeline route.

Rädlinger Primus Line offers customers everything they need for the successful implementation of trenchless rehabilitation from a single source, including pipe rehabilitation concepts for network operators, project implementation, feasibility studies and method statements.

With these innovations, Rädlinger Primus Line is further expanding its range of offerings, both in terms of technology and services. The focus is on providing solutions that are tailored to a variety of practical requirements: from additional product options to supporting services throughout various project phases, such as planning, implementation and quality assurance.
