Overland reel with swivel unit
Whether it is a planned bypass or an emergency: With the Primus Line® system neatly wound onto the overland reel with swivel unit, network operators can maintain or quickly restore the supply – time and time again.
Rädlinger Primus Line has developed a special reel unit for bypass and other temporary above-ground applications – such as in emergencies. This unit makes it possible not only to unroll the liner in these scenarios, but also to roll it back up again after use. The liner can be stored on the overland reel to save space and reused as required. Its rapid installation ensures that the supply is restored in a short space of time.
Your benefits at a glance
Storage and reuse
The swivel unit helps to wind up the Primus Liner evenly and quickly after use. The liner is stored on the overland reel to save space until it is next used.
Rapid deployment
The connectors can remain attached to the liner while it is being wound up and stored. One of the connectors can be stowed inside the reel core. This ensures quick installation and re-commissioning of the liner for its next use.
Hydraulic drive
Hydraulic hoses fitted to the control block, complete with quick-connect couplings, are used to connect the overland reel to a suitable hydraulic power unit. Alternatively, it can also be connected to the hydraulic system of a suitable carrier vehicle, such as a wheel loader, telescopic handler or tractor.
Easy transport
The base frame of the reel unit features forklift pockets for easy transport using a suitable carrier vehicle – even off-road. The top of the reel unit is also fitted with lifting points for handling by a crane or carrier vehicle. The entire overland reel fits into a standard container, onto a lorry or onto a flatbed trailer.
Modular system (1)
The reel and its mounting are connected to the base frame and the swivel unit via four bolts. A full reel with its frame can be quickly detached from the base frame on site, and another reel of the same width can be fitted for winding or unwinding. This allows you, the customer, to use several reels, possibly fitted with liners of different lengths and diameters, on a single base frame.
Modular system (2)
Only one drive and swivel unit is required, as this can be reused for all reels. Two variants are available for accommodating reels with net widths of 2,100 mm (TE-210) and 4,000 mm (TE-400). They are suitable for unwinding and rewinding liners of varying lengths, from short to long.
On request, we can also supply a ready-made set comprising a liner and pre-assembled connectors, which is already wound onto the overland reel with swivel unit.
