When and how did you join Rädlinger Primus Line? What made you decide to join the company back then – and what keeps you here to this day?

I joined Rädlinger Primus Line in early 2011. I was personally recruited by the technical manager at the time. I had actually started working at Rädlinger Maschinenbau in the design department a good year earlier.

At that time, Rädlinger Primus Line was still a relatively small company with a small team.

What convinced me was the tremendous innovative strength and technology behind the Primus Line® brand. Although I had completed my apprenticeship with a specialist machine manufacturer specializing in automation, robotics and medical technology, Rädlinger Primus Line was something completely different again. As I was still working in design at the time, it was, of course, absolutely overwhelming and something you do not often come across. Even back then, you could see that Primus Line® had something really big with a lot of potential.

Which moments or projects do you particularly enjoy looking back on?

That is one of the hardest questions to answer. Since I joined the team, there have been so many projects that would deserve a mention here.

One of the first major milestones in my early days was the introduction of the low-pressure liner. At the time, I was responsible for the design and manufacture of the connectors (now known as M3), which are still in use today.

Another special project was my first O&G project in 2013 in Italy. It was the first project of its kind. The increased demands on technology, materials and documentation were new to us, and we had to navigate our way through standards and certifications to ensure the project’s success – which we ultimately achieved. Another unique aspect of this project was that the connector was installed underwater.

Ultimately, it is always the projects and moments that stick in your memory – those where you face particular challenges and then successfully overcome them.

„[...] the company has, on the whole, blossomed from an innovative development project into a profitable business – one that still has plenty of potential.“

In your view, what has changed the most – technically, organizationally and/or on a personal level?

Compared to how it used to be – a small company with few employees – Rädlinger Primus Line has developed in every respect.

Professionally, this has been driven by the recruitment of new staff from various specialist fields, who bring their previously acquired expertise to the company.

Organizationally, of course, a great deal has changed as a result of the company’s growth, with new departments and specialist areas emerging.

During my time here, the company has, on the whole, blossomed from an innovative development project into a profitable business – one that still has plenty of potential.

Which developments in your field were real milestones for you?

The establishment of a digital warehouse system around 2012: Rädlinger Primus Line was added as a client in the mechanical engineering database.

The introduction of a new ERP system in 2019: a milestone compared to the previous database solution, which brought about new, better and more effective processes.

Which skills or values from your early days are still important today, and why?

Teamwork and solidarity are still important, because it is only as a team that we can successfully master the new challenges that the future brings. Whether that means handling even larger or more projects, or developing new liners.

Everyone in the team must, and can, contribute their expertise to ensure that Rädlinger Primus Line continues to shape a successful future.

You are now an expert in your field. What does experience mean to you in your day-to-day work?

Experience is very important to me, especially with such a specialized product as Primus Line®. You can draw on your experience in many situations and also help other specialist departments with specific problems.

When you think about the future development of the company and/or the product, what are you particularly looking forward to?

I am particularly looking forward to the expansion of our product portfolio (new liner sizes such as 22-inch, 24-inch, etc.) and the development of other products. These always bring new challenges, which give you the chance to test yourself and prove your worth once again.

And finally: what message or best wishes would you like to share with the company to mark its 25th anniversary?

I wish Rädlinger Primus Line continued success, innovative drive and a bright future, just like in the years gone by!
