Situation

Aguas Andinas provides the water supply and sewerage services for most of Santiago de Chile. They operate a network of pipelines that in some cases have been in service for more than 50 years. A great deal of this network consists of reinforced concrete pressure pipes, a technology that was first used in the 1900’s. The poor condition of the system causes water leakage of up to 40%.
